Random Thought of the day… Smartphones!

So my mind was wandering today, and I came to realize how much i value my smartphone (currently a Blackberry Curve).

As I’m sure anyone in my friends/family circle will tell you, I’m horrible at remembering dates/times and phone numbers. Going through college, I always had a PDA and religiously kept it up to date with my calendar and contacts! Fast-forward to 2009, now I can do all sorts of fun things with my “pda” (aka my smartphone):
  • Have my email “pushed” to my phone so that i can read and respond almost instantly
  • Sync my contacts, calendar, tasks, and memos between a number of computers (corporate & personal)
  • Listen to music or watch tv (basically, it’s like having a 2nd iPod)
  • Get directions and view maps (via Google Maps and/or other navigation software)
  • Get news and updates from different websites effortlessly via integrated applications
  • Browse the Internet and play games

I guess the PDA of way back has come a LONG way! Oh yeah, I forgot – I can also use it to make phone calls!! It will be interesting to see how Smartphones progress over the next few years!

If you would like to know more about how to make the switch to a Smartphone, feel free to contact me: http://www.mw2mltech.com I’d be glad to help you out!
