How to Pick a Server: Strategies for Small Business

I stumbled upon a post that (despite its publish date) presented a good strategy for choosing a Server.  While these strategies are broad, they should help you know what to look for when researching the most up-to-date hardware offerings from the likes of Dell, HP, etc.

How to Pick A Server – Strategies for Small Business:

  • Build out external storage early on, such as an IP San (iSCSI)
  • Choose Hardware with Low Power Consumption and Heat Output
  • Check out Blade Server systems as an alternative to Rack Servers, as they can be easier to manage and grow
  • Scrutinize Warranty Programs to ensure the best fit for your business
