Smartphone Roundup – Supplemental

It’s been a while since I posted my original Smartphone Roundup, and compared the features of the iPhone, Blackberry, Pre, and Windows Mobile. However, I stumbled upon a worthwhile addition to the lineup that may be worth examining from a home-user perspective: the Nokia N900 Internet Tablet. Don’t let the name fool you, this “Internet tablet” appears to be close in size to the HTC Touch Pro, providing an incredible feature set in a pocket sized package.

Here’s a quick list of the top features:

  • 3.5” touchscreen, with 800×480 pixel display (wow!)
  • 5 Megapixel camera, with dual-LED flash
  • Integrated A-GPS (for maps and geotagging)
  • 32GB Internal Storage (plus you can add an extra 16GB MicroSD Card)
  • Full QWERTY keyboard (tactile, and on-screen/touch)
  • Media, Email, and Web applications galore, most of which appear to be intuitively integrated.

Really, I would recommend you check this out. I found a hands-on video which really shows off the usability of the device. I’ll be curious to see what the reviews say about battery life. If Nokia can manage a decent battery life, they may have the next big competitor to the iPhone. Enjoy!
