I was just reading an article at Mashable (LinkedIn Surpasses 50 Million Users), and think its interesting to note the recent growth of the service. If you look at the graph in the article, LinkedIn’s unique visitor count nearly doubled over ten months. Being that LinkedIn is more of a social network for “Professionals,” I’m wondering if the recent increase is related to the recent decline in the economy. There has also been a steady increase over the last two months – could this be attributed to a number of folks changing careers or nearing expiration of severance packages? What are your thoughts?
