Debating a Windows 8 Upgrade? Check this serious deal…

This is a short post folks:

If you’re debating a Windows 8 upgrade, now’s the time to do it.  I was just poking around on Amazon and they’ve got the Windows 8 Pro upgrade for $67.  That’s a savings of 67% (or $133 off)!!!

Yes, the “new start menu” is a little shocking at first, but I’ve been playing with Win 8 and Server 2012 since the developer preview version, and it’s rock solid.  They definitely improved on Windows 7.

If you’ve been eyeing up this upgrade, now’s the time to pull the trigger.

What will the upgrade to Windows 8 do to your PC?

Just a little FYI on what you’ll be able to keep if you run the upgrade on your machine.  If the thought of doing the upgrade scares you, you can always engage the family IT administrator or your nerdy coworker/friend for some help!

Upgrading from: What you can keep:
Windows 8 Preview(Chances are you don’t have this if you’re not a computer nerd.) Personal files
Windows 8 Developer Preview(Chances are you don’t have this if you’re not a computer nerd.) Nothing, but your old files will be saved in the “windows.old” folder
Windows 7 Software programs; Windows settings; personal files(Fortunately, most programs written for Windows 7 automagically work with Windows 8!!)
Windows Vista(you’ll probably like Windows 8 a LOT more) Windows settings; personal files
Windows XP(It’s time to put this OS to rest, especially since Microsoft is scheduled to stop providing security updates sometime early 2015!) Personal files
