Many of the technologies we discuss on our Blog are technologies we use ourselves and promote to our clients. The full list of our favorite products and services is kept on our Blog, but we've included a few of our favorites here.
GoDaddy.com - Cheap domain and web hosting, with excellent customer service! I bought my own domain names through GoDaddy, and the site you're currently reading is hosted on one of their "Economy" plans. I have been completely satisfied with my purchase. They constantly run sales on Domain Name registration services, and the price on their economy hosting can't be beat!
Bluehost.com - If you're starting a blog (i.e. Wordpress), Bluehost's unlimited hosting can't be beat for the price! Their interface is intuitive, with point-and-click installs for a number of add-ins such as Joomla and Wordpress. Again, the fact their hosting includes unlimited bandwidth is awesome!

BackBlaze- If you're looking for a no-hassle backup provider (Windows or Mac), then BackBlaze is your answer! They only charge $5 per month (per computer), for unlimited storage capacity! That means all your music, docs, photos, and videos can be safely tucked away on the Internet. Never worry about a virus or hardware failure again! Try it for 15 days free-of-charge!
iDrive - If you don't have much to back up (less than 2GB), then you may want to consider iDrive. They offer a "Basic" account that allows you to backup up to 2GB of data for free from a single computer! If you outgrow this, they only charge $50/year for up to 150Gb of storage space (and up to 5 computers). It's like having your own USB portable hard drive "in the cloud!" Oh, and they also have free software which allows you to make quick backups using USB Hard Drives (in case you don't have broadband Internet)! Small Businesses may also be interested in some of the features iDrive has specific to their needs! Mozy - Think of Mozy as a hybrid between BackBlaze and iDrive: Unlimited Paid Backups, but with a 2GB Free Trial. Their backup client (Windows and Mac) is easy to use and encrypts everything (great for security)! They also have a "Pro" version for business, which encompasses some more advanced features and starts at $3.95 plus $0.50/GB for desktops (slightly more for servers).
SugarSync - While not strictly an "Online Backup" solution, it's well worth mention. SugarSync basically takes Online Backups a few steps further, by allowing you to sync your "backup" to additional PC's and mobile devices. Basically, this allows you to have your files readily available anywhere you want them. Plus, if they're not readily available, you can log into SugarSync's website to retrieve them. You can even stream your music collection off their website. Pricing starts at $5/month for 30GB of storage space.

Norton Internet Security 2010 (or Norton 360 version 3.0) - Symantec products were notoriously bloated and slow. However, after a complete rewrite, these are doing well and getting quite a bit of praise for speed and ease-of-use.
ESET Smart Security - This program comes highly recommended by a number of my counterparts. It has a great reputation for preventing viruses, is relatively inexpensive, and also gets positive reviews from numerous sources on the Internet.
Trend Micro Internet Security 3.0 - I actually run Trend Micro on my own home computers. Like the others, you can install it on up to 3 computers with one license. I like features in its built-in firewall, such as the ability to setup "profiles" for how your computer is connected (office, wireless, public wireless, etc), and also enjoy some of the web-browsing security features it has. Bonus: Trend Micro is reasonably priced!

Intuit QuickBooks Pro - QuickBooks is probably the most well-known (Windows and Mac) platform for small business (and increasingly large business) accounting.
It can be difficult to get started with QuickBooks, but once you've got it configured it becomes less intimidating. Intuit also offers add-ons, such as Payroll and Point-of-Sale. Get 20% off and free shipping.
